Virginia State Police, Rappahannock County Sheriff search for missing 78-year-old man

RAPPAHANNOCK COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Virginia State Police issued a Prime Alert on behalf of the Rappahannock County Sheriff's Office on Sunday, May 26 at 1:20 p.m. for a missing 78-year-old man from Woodville.

Virginia State Police and the Rappahannock County Sheriff's Office are searching for 78-year-old William Edward Eager.


Police describe Eager as a white man with brown eyes and brown and gray hair. He is 6 feet tall and weighs 180 pounds.

According to state police, he was last seen at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 25, at his home on Hunters Road in Woodville.

Police said he could possibly be on his way to Greensboro, North Carolina, in a silver 2015 Subaru Outback with Virginia license plates: VZR-7715.

State police say the missing elderly person suffers from cognitive impairment and her disappearance poses a threat to her health and safety.
