Violent road fight turns into stabbing and near-hit-and-run, video shows

Cellphone video captured the moments a driver stabbed another driver multiple times during a road rage incident in California.

The incident happened Saturday afternoon in the city of Ontario, just outside of Los Angeles.

According to KABC, surveillance video from two businesses captured the altercation between two male SUV drivers.

Surveillance footage from the first company showed the first part of the incident when a white BMW SUV pulled into a parking lot, and a man got out of the car and began gesturing wildly toward a silver SUV parked across the parking lot, according to local media.

The silver SUV waits for traffic to clear before speeding into the parking lot and pulling into a space right next to the BMW.

By this time, the driver of the BMW is already back in his car, but the driver of the silver SUV gets out, walks to the driver's side of the BMW and appears to hit the driver twice.

The driver of the silver SUV gets back into his car and begins to drive away when a female passenger in the BMW gets out and begins recording his car with her cell phone.

As he pulls out of the parking lot and into the street, the white BMW follows him.

Surveillance video from another business showed the confrontation escalated between the two drivers on a busy road. The driver of the BMW gets out of his vehicle in the middle of the street and appears to try to approach the silver SUV parked in front of him.

The silver SUV suddenly makes a U-turn and charges at the driver of the BMW who is standing in the street, appearing to want to ram him. The driver of the BMW begins running around the silver SUV and kicking its bumper while the driver of the silver SUV gets out to try to confront him face to face.

Cellphone video captured the final moments of the incident as the driver of the silver SUV returned to his car and crashed into the white BMW.

That's when the driver of the white BMW, now armed with a knife, walked up to the driver's side window of the silver SUV and began stabbing the driver multiple times.

The suspect fled but was later apprehended by police.

The driver of the silver SUV did not need to be taken to hospital for his injuries, which police said were not life-threatening.

Authorities identified the suspect as Jhonpol Molina Orozco, 21, of Rancho Cucamonga. He was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon.
