Ville Platte man arrested after eluding authorities multiple times

EVANGELINE PARISH, The. (KLF) – After several attempts by authorities to capture a Ville Platte man who had felony warrants, the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office finally arrested him, with assistance from the Department of Fish and Wildlife.

Officers initially received a tip that Triston Vidrine was at an address on Majic Lane in Pine Prairie, and after seeing Vidrine sitting in a truck on the property, they attempted to stop him. Vidrine fled in the truck, and a high-speed chase ensued until they arrived in a wooded area in Easton where Triston exited the vehicle and was able to evade capture.

Authorities tried several times to catch Vidrine, but were unsuccessful as he fled on foot into the woods. After Department of Fish and Wildlife officers received a tip that Vidrine was illegally hunting deer in the Lake Cove area, they went to a home where he was staying in Lake Cove, but he again fled in a truck and could not be captured.

EPSO soon learned from another tip that Vidrine was staying at a residence in Pitkin and on 29 June he was arrested without incident.
