A video circulating online appears to show a fight at North Mecklenburg High School. At the very end of the clip, we hear gunshots and then the video ends abruptly.

Was there a shooting after a fight at North Mecklenburg High School?

No, no shots were fired following a fight at North Mecklenburg High School.

When we emailed the Huntersville Police Department to ask if a fight took place at North Meckleburg High School last Friday, police said there was a fight at the end of the day and that all the minors involved had been returned to their parents.

Now let's move on to the video circulating on the Citizens app, an app that sends users location-based security alerts in real time. Police said an unknown person added the sound of gunshots at the very end.

Our Verify team took this video and extracted the audio and we believe it was taken from a YouTube channel called ProSounds. Without metadata we cannot be 100% conclusive. However, we can say that the number of shots, firing speed, and caliber and type of weapon(s) sound the same.
