Video: Teens arrested after chase with Douglas County police officer

DENVER (KDVR) — Two teenagers were taken into custody following a high-speed chase with a Douglas County Sheriff's Office deputy, and it was all caught on camera.

The video was posted to X by the sheriff's office on Monday.

According to the department, the situation began with a report of a stolen truck and two teenagers allegedly “burglarizing” cars in Castle Pines.

The video is footage captured by a dash cam from the deputy's vehicle and shows him with his lights and sirens on, chasing the black truck that was allegedly stolen.

The sheriff's office said the incident happened in the early morning hours and the roads were mostly empty.

After a few seconds, the truck appears to enter an exit ramp and the deputy follows. The deputy then hits the rear corner of the truck with his vehicle and causes the truck to spin 180 degrees before stopping directly in front of the deputy.

According to the sheriff's office, a 15-year-old driver and a 16-year-old passenger were taken into custody on multiple charges, including possession of a firearm.

“Thanks to the quick work of our #DCSO deputies and their commitment to keeping our Douglas County community safe,” the sheriff’s office said on X.
