Video shows gunman open fire in 'very nice' Miami Gardens neighborhood

MIAMI GARDENS, Florida. – Police are investigating after they say a gunman opened fire in a Miami Gardens neighborhood over the holiday weekend.

Local 10 News obtained video from Only in Dade of a person brandishing what appears to be an assault rifle and sprinting down an alley while firing multiple rounds.

The culprit was seen taking a break for a while while gunfire was exchanged before quickly leaving in a vehicle.

The latest incident is currently under investigation by Miami Gardens Police Department detectives.

A Local 10 News crew was in the neighborhood where homes and vehicles are bearing the brunt of the violence, as evidenced by bullet-riddled facades and punctured vehicles.

Carolina Hunter said she worries about the safety of her grandchildren in Miami Gardens. Detectives were investigating a Memorial Day weekend shooting just steps from his home.

Hunter said his neighborhood was “very nice and pleasant,” but a shooting Saturday night in the northwest neighborhood at 202 Terrace and 33 Avenue filled him with fear.

“It was a little scary,” Hunter said. “We are concerned.”

Residents said dozens of bullets were “flying.” There were holes all over the white walls and windows of the targeted house. There were holes in a black Honda parked with a disabled parking permit.

Authorities said no one was injured and the motive remains unclear at this time.

Detectives asked anyone with information on this or other cases to call Miami-Dade County Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
