Video showing alleged black magic items in Congress leader K Sudhakaran's residence goes viral

Thiruvananthapuram: An alleged video showing objects related to black magic found at the residence of KPCC president and Kannur MP K Sudhakaran went viral on social media on Thursday.

Television channels aired the video, which showed a few people extracting objects from buried places, allegedly linked to black magic, at Sudhakaran's residence in Kannur.

After the video was released, Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee president told the media that it was an old video and he was not afraid of such threats.

In the video, Sudhakaran and Kasaragod MP and senior Congress leader Rajmohan Unnithan are said to be speaking.

“You can ask Unnithan for details,” Sudhakaran said when asked about their presence at the site during the extraction of the artefacts. “Such threats will not concern me,” he said.

Unnithan did not react to the video.

When asked by reporters about the alleged discovery of such documents at the party headquarters, Sudhakaran said he had also heard about it.

In the video, a third person, suspected to be an astrologer, was seen taking out some Theyyam figurines, ash and other coloured powders allegedly used for a black magic ritual.

A man's voice in the video refers to a recovered object and says it was a dark magic material meant to affect the head.

The question has sparked interesting debates on social media.

In a Facebook post, Congress ideologue Cherian Philip said that in the modern scientific era, those who believe and practice evil superstitions and black magic are cowards.

He said that in Kerala society, which has rejected superstitions and evil practices, those who still indulge in witchcraft and other evil acts are mere criminals.

“Those who adopt deceptive means to destroy their opponents have a criminal mind. Progressives, political activists and the media should never support such people. They should be rejected with contempt,” Philip added.
