Victims Identified in Fatal Crash on I-70 Eastbound in Colorado

The victims of a fatal crash on eastbound I-70 just east of the Avon 167 interchange have been identified.

Stephanie Thompson confirmed to CBS News Colorado that Tom and Carolyn Raymond died in the crash that happened Saturday afternoon. Thompson is the daughter of Tom and Carolyn.

“Words cannot describe how much we will miss them. They were fantastic parents, but even better grandparents,” Thompson said in a Facebook post.

On Saturday before 2 p.m., emergency services responded to a serious collision involving two vehicles on the highway and leaving two people dead in a single vehicle.

Two people from the second vehicle were injured and taken to Vail Health Hospital for treatment.

The crash caused significant traffic delays along I-70 and required the left lane to be closed for investigation.
