Victim of fatal stabbing identified, no suspect arrested

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) has released the identity of the man killed in a stabbing near Remington Park on the city's east side on Monday, June 17.

According to CSPD, Tadeo Francisco Villavicencio-Ramirez, 24, died from stab wounds he received during a large fight in the 3100 block of Heather Glen Drive, southeast of North Carefree Circle and Peterson Road.

CSPD initially went to the Remington Park area shortly before 9 p.m. Monday after receiving reports of a stabbing. When officers arrived, they found Villavicencio-Ramirez dead at the scene from an apparent knife wound.

While the coroner's office will determine the official cause and manner of death, Villavicencio-Ramirez's death is being investigated as a homicide.

CSPD said no suspects have been arrested and detectives continue to investigate the stabbing and develop information on potential suspects.

This is the 21st homicide to occur in Colorado Springs in 2024. At the same time in 2023, there were 14.
