Victim of fatal Albany motorcycle crash identified

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — State Police continue to investigate a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred June 20 near the I-787 and I-90 interchange in Albany. The driver of the motorcycle, identified as Michael Furch, 34, of Guilderland, died at the scene.

Thursday around 5:08 p.m., police responded to the Exit 5 off-ramp following the report of an accident involving a single vehicle. The investigation determined that Furch was exiting I-787 when he lost control of his motorcycle and collided with a concrete barrier.

The crash caused Furch to be ejected from his motorcycle and land on the shoulder of I-787, under the ramp. Several lane closures were in place in the area Thursday evening while the scene was assessed. The investigation into the accident continues.
