One person lost their life and another was hospitalized when the vehicle they were in was struck by another in a rural Sheboygan County accident on Sunday.

The 911 call alerting the Sheriff's Office came in at 1:10 Sunday afternoon, reporting the two-vehicle crash near Highway 67 and County Highway “S” about three miles southwest of Plymouth. Investigators say a 61-year-old Saukville man and his 12-year-old passenger were eastbound on Highway 67 when a 53-year-old Plymouth man traveling the opposite direction attempted to turn south onto Highway “S” in front of the man's SUV, causing the collision.

The driver of that SUV was pronounced dead at the scene while his passenger had to be transported to Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee via Flight for Life. Investigators say alcohol appears to be a factor in the crash.

This morning the Sheboygan County Sheriff's Office identified the deceased driver as Michael P. Murphy of Saukville, Wisconsin. No further details were released.
