The coroner has identified one of the people killed in the Sunday morning crash in South Pymatuning Township in Mercer County.

David Helberg III, 25, was killed in the single-vehicle crash.

A second person also died in the car crash in Mercer County, according to Prosecutor Peter Acker.

The report of the second death was revealed in an email from the prosecutor Thursday morning.

The crash happened around 4 a.m. Sunday in South Pymatuning Township, near the intersection of Saranac and Buckeye Drives.

Acker told 21 News that a truck with three people inside destroyed a utility pole and power lines, knocking out power to nearby homes.

One of the passengers was killed and another was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

An earlier report prematurely announcing the death of the second person was corrected earlier this week when the Pymatuning Municipality Police Department told 21 News the victim was still hospitalized on life support at that time.

Acker said the driver will face charges of DUI vehicular homicide after he is released from the hospital.

Acker said the accident was one of the worst he had seen. Weather conditions, high speeds and alcohol are believed to have played a role.

South Pymatuning Township Police and State Police are investigating.
