Victim identified in fatal I-55 crash in Madison

Madison police have identified the victim killed in a fatal crash.

It happened around 10:30 p.m. Monday on Interstate 55 North, about a mile past the Madison exit.

Officers said it appears the vehicle left the roadway, overturned in the central reservation and struck a concrete barrier.

The driver, Ira Fuquay, 51, of Canton, was ejected from the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

There were no other passengers and the cause of the accident remains under investigation.
