Victim hospitalized; Omaha police are investigating.

NEWS. This latest news comes after a mother called 911 saying her daughter was shot just after midnight. Omaha police rushed to the scene near Carter Lake, finding blood and shell casings on the ground while two juveniles were transported to the hospital. THIS MORNING. Now, we later learned that this call was updated to a possible shooting this morning. We learned there are two victims. WOMEN WHO WERE IN THE CASE NOW. ONE OF THE VICTIMS WAS SHOT IN THE ARM. THE OTHER WAS HIT NEAR THE HEAD. BOTH VICTIMS WERE AUTOMATICALLY TRANSPORTED TO HOSPITAL. THE VICTIM, WHO WAS HIT NEAR THE HEAD, IS IN CRITICAL CONDITION AND THREATS HER LIFE. And the latest news is that the victim was shot in the arm. FELONY ASSAULT CHARGES ARE PENDING AT THIS TIME. THERE ARE NO SUSPECTS IN DETENTION NOW. This is still an ongoing investigation, but police encourage anyone with information to call OMAHA CRIME STOPPERS at 402444. STOP REPORTING IN CARTER LAKE.

Omaha police responded to a crowd call shortly after midnight, which then escalated into a potential shooting, authorities reported. Police say one victim told her parents she may have been shot. The two victims, identified as women, were taken to hospital themselves for treatment. One of the victims was shot in the arm, while the other was shot near the head; she is currently in critical condition, police said. Felony assault charges are currently pending.
