Vicious brawl video shows Midtown stabbing that killed 22-year-old woman

Metro

A surveillance camera captured a fatal stabbing near the Midtown Port Authority Tuesday night that left a young woman dead, as her suspected killer fled with the bloody knife still in his hand.

In the video, which begins around 10:15 p.m. near the intersection of West 40th Street and Eighth Avenue, the heavyset, curly-haired suspect emerges from the bottom of the frame and walks straight toward the smaller woman.

The suspect lunges at her and the two women engage in a violent struggle on the sidewalk which sends them playing ping-pong between the building and the metal legs of the street scaffolding.

They exchange punches and slaps as they struggle, but the attacker begins to strike the victim's chest with his blade-wielding left hand.

Authorities then transported the woman – who had been stabbed in the chest – to Bellevue Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, officers said.

The suspect wore a white shirt and light blue jeans as she walked down Eighth Avenue, police said.
