Vehicle involved in Bunnell drive-by shooting found; police search for armed men

BUNNEL, Florida. – A vehicle used in a drive-by shooting in Bunnell early Wednesday morning has been recovered, but authorities are still searching for two gunmen involved.

The Bunnell Police Department and Flagler County Sheriff's Office responded around 12:22 a.m. to Hymon Circle after a resident reported hearing multiple gunshots. Law enforcement found several shell casings in the roadway and obtained video of the incident, according to a news release.

Police said the video shows two men pulling up and getting out of a vehicle on Hymon Circle. The video then showed them walking around the house and returning to the car before both shooting at the house as they drove away, the department said.

Bunnell police said the Daytona Beach Police Department found the vehicle parked at an apartment complex shortly after the shooting with a handgun and ammunition inside.

“We will not tolerate violence and we will use all our resources to identify those responsible and hold them accountable,” Bunnell Police Chief David Brannon said in a statement. “Thank you to our law enforcement partners – Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly and Daytona Beach Police Chief Jakari Young, as well as your respective deputies and officers for the assistance we been provided.”

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact Bunnell Lt. Shane Groth at 386-600-7950. To remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 1-888-277-8477.
