Vehicle crashes into New Hampshire tollbooth, catches fire

New Hampshire State Police were investigating a serious crash at the Bedford Tollbooth on the Everett Turnpike. Police said the incident approaching the south side of the tollbooth involved a vehicle that was on fire after the crash. Video from Sky 5 shows the remains of a burned-out vehicle that caught fire near the tollbooth entrance. State police said four toll lanes at the multi-lane toll plaza were closed, while two lanes remained open. The Everett Turnpike toll plaza does not have high-speed E-ZPass lanes. The speed limit for drivers using the toll lanes is 25 mph. Drivers should anticipate delays and avoid the area if possible. This is the third accident involving a vehicle at a New Hampshire toll plaza since last month. A Massachusetts man was killed after the truck he was driving crashed into the Hampton Toll Plaza over Memorial Day weekend. Days earlier, another Massachusetts man was injured in an accident at the same toll booth. Tolls are collected on several New Hampshire roads, including the Everett Turnpike, the Spaulding Turnpike, and Interstate 95.
