Uttar Pradesh police investigate multiple stabbings at July 4 house party

Fireworks went off at a party in Utica early Friday morning, and not the good kind. Utica police are investigating multiple stabbings at a July 4 house party that sent several people to Wynn Hospital.

Even in the midst of everything Utica police are currently going through, the work doesn't stop and in Friday's case just after midnight, officers were dispatched to the 1500 block of Mohawk Street for reports of a stabbing, according to police.

According to police, when officers arrived on scene, a 17-year-old victim reported a fight had broken out and she had been stabbed multiple times in the hands and legs. She was then transported to Wynn Hospital, where police learned that two other stabbing victims from the same group had gone to the hospital for treatment. Those victims were 19 and 20 years old.

According to police officials, the other two men gave the same story: that a fight broke out at a house party and they were stabbed in the hands, shoulders and chest. Fortunately, none of the victims suffered life-threatening injuries and all were successfully treated at Wynn Hospital. But the investigation into what caused the fight is just beginning.

Police officials say the incident has been turned over to the Criminal Investigation Division and they urge anyone who may have information to contact them at (315) 223-3510 or you can always submit a 100% anonymous tip online through Mohawk Valley Crime Stoppers at www.mohawkvalleycrimestoppers.comby calling 1-866-730-8477 (TIPS) or using the P3 Tips mobile app.
