Upper Darby police were dispatched to Sunoco at 8203 West Chester Pike around 11:40 p.m. Sunday for a shooting.

Officers swarmed the area. They soon learned that the victim had been taken by private vehicle from the scene and that the shooter had also fled, police radio showed.

The victim was in a crossover vehicle and the shooter was in a blue vehicle. Area hospitals were alerted of a possible walk-in shooting victim.

Police cordoned off the parking lot, shell casings were found and an investigation was underway. Witnesses were also taken to the police station so investigators could take their statements, the radio showed.

On Monday morning, township Police Superintendent Timothy Bernhardt said there were no injuries and the incident appeared to have started when two men began arguing at the fuel pumps and at least one shot the other.
