Upper Darby man sentenced to prison for involvement in Jan. 6 insurrection

Court documents show that Healion sent a message to a chat with other MOSD members in the days leading up to January 6, 2021:

“What time is the whole political/presidential situation happening that day? With Pence and the electoral votes? And are we anticipating an unlikely Pence moment of joy?” [sic] “Growing balls?”

On the morning of the insurrection, Healion raided the Washington Monument alongside more than 100 Proud Boys members. Upon arriving at the Capitol, Healion covered his face with a black gaiter and ran toward a line of police.

“Healion then walked to the front of the crowd, facing the line of officers, and attempted to grab a bicycle,” the U.S. Attorney’s Office said. “Court documents indicate that he attempted to grab the bike rack to interfere with the officers’ efforts to maintain a police line.”

According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, Healion later succeeded when he reached for the bike rack again and snatched it from a Metropolitan Police Department officer. Healion entered the building's upper west terrace through the Senate wing door.

“Once inside, Healion and others entered a U.S. senator’s office and posed for photos,” the U.S. Attorney’s Office said. “After spending approximately 20 minutes inside the building, Healion and other Proud Boys members exited through a broken window.”

FBI agents arrested Healion on December 10, 2021.

More than 1,450 people across the country have been charged with crimes related to the U.S. Capitol breach.

Healion is the Second Philadelphia-area Proud Boy faces prison sentence.
