UPDATE: Volunteers needed Monday to search for missing Henning man with dementia

OTTER TAIL CO., Minn. (KVRR: 9:00 p.m., UPDATED 6/23/24) — The Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office is now asking for volunteer help in the search for 79-year-old Robert Shaw.

He disappeared on Saturday after walking away from his home in rural Henning.

Shaw suffers from dementia.

Volunteers are invited to meet at 8 a.m. Monday at 21791 State Highway 29 in Henning.

To help them track the area, they are asked to download the free app “Caltopo” (cal-toe-poe).

The search today included numerous planes, K9s, drones, an airboat, horses and UTVs, as well as 150 local community members, firefighters and two search and rescue teams.

OTTER TAIL CO., Minn. (KVRR) — The Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office continues to search for Robert Shaw.

They say the 79-year-old went missing Saturday after walking away from his rural home in Henning, in the area of ​​County Highway 134 and State Highway 29.

Shaw is white, approximately 5′10″ tall, weighs 160 pounds, and suffers from dementia.

Neighbors are asked to search all outbuildings and deer stands and check surveillance cameras.

The Sheriff's Office is not asking for the public's help with ground searches at this time, but may ask for help in the near future.
