UPDATE: Two men have been arrested in connection with the shooting of a 14-year-old boy on April 20 on Shallowford Road. gas station.

Allen Ray, 18, was arrested for attempted first-degree murder and reckless endangerment.

Dominique Collins, 36, was arrested for attempted first-degree murder, reckless endangerment and possession of drugs for resale.

The Chattanooga Police Department said both men were booked into the Hamilton County Jail.


PREVIOUS STORY: Chattanooga police have arrested a suspect in the shooting of a teenager in a gas station parking lot. It happened on April 20 on Shallowford Road.

According to the arrest report, investigators found 36 spent shell casings at the scene.

Surveillance video shows two suspects shooting the victim. A third suspect was driving.

Court records show Allen Ray admitted to shooting the victim with a rifle. He is charged with attempted first-degree murder and reckless endangerment. Ray is due in court on May 30.


PREVIOUS STORY: Chattanooga police say a 14-year-old is the latest shooting victim, in what appears to be a targeted incident.

It happened around 10:15 a.m. at a convenience store near the intersection of Shallowford Road and Jenkins Road.

CPD says the teen was in a car with several other people. They were parked near the gas pumps when the suspects began shooting at them. The driver tried to flee, but they crashed in nearby woods.

Police arrived and found the teenager, whose life was not in danger. Emergency services transported the victim to hospital. No one else in the car was hit.

Investigators say the suspects left before police arrived.
