UPDATE: Two dead identified in apparent murder/suicide in Eagle Lake

The couple involved in what police are describing as a murder/suicide in Eagle Lake have been identified.

According to Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace, Steven Junior Craft, 41, had a long history of domestic violence, including against the victim, Gabrielle Summer Tatum, 28.

According to Pace, on the night of the incident, Craft was on the phone with a family member and told them he was about to kill Tatum and them. The family member alerted Warren County, which dispatched officers to the scene.

When officers arrived, they had to force entry into the home and found the couple shot dead with the gun on the ground next to Craft.

The case remains under investigation as a murder/suicide, Pace said.
