UPDATE: Suspects' cases in Arlington shooting go to grand jury | Local News

UPDATE:

First-degree murder charges against the men accused of shooting two brothers have been bound over to a grand jury.

Jamarie Jones and Jonathan Sawyer allegedly shot De'Aaron and De'jyron Triplett at the Bayberry Apartments last month.

It is reported that Sawyer, Jones and Darrisha Danforth all fled the scene.

Danforth allegedly drove the getaway car and faces a charge of accessory after the fact.

Cincinnati police make two arrests in double homicide on Arlington Avenue

Chattanooga police have made two arrests in a deadly double shooting on Arlington Avenue in May.

Police said Jamaire Jones, 20, and Darrisha Danforth, 32, were arrested Tuesday.

Police said surveillance video and witness statements linked the two men to the double homicide that occurred in the 1100 block of Arlington Avenue on May 1.

Detectives say Jones put a mask over his face just before walking with the victims through the apartments' breezeway.

Police said Jones was then seen shooting toward the victims and then driving away in a car driven by Danforth.

Jones is charged with first-degree murder and weapons violations.

He is being held at the Hamilton County Jail and Detention Center on $750,000 bail and is due in court June 18.

Danforth is charged with accessory after the fact. She is due in court on July 30.

PREVIOUS STORY: Chattanooga police said both victims of the Arlington Avenue shooting died from their injuries.

Authorities say the victims were a 19-year-old man and a 21-year-old man. Their identities have not been released.

UPDATE: The Chattanooga Police Department responded to a shooting in the 1100 block of Arlington Ave. just before 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Chattanooga Police Sgt. Victor Miller says two people were seriously injured and taken to hospital.

Police also said they received a report of a third person who went to the hospital with a gunshot wound.

Police are investigating whether the third person was connected to the shooting on Arlington Ave.

Miller says this was a targeted incident. Our team on site saw two men arrested.

Police say there is no threat to the community and encourage anyone with information to call 423-698-2525.
