UPDATE: PSP ID shooting victim as St Thomas man, person arrested for murder

June 23, 2024 – On June 22, Pennsylvania State Police troopers were dispatched to the 3700 block of Mountain Shadow Drive in Greene Township for a report of shots fired.

Upon arrival, members encountered a red pickup truck parked in the middle of the street, occupied by a single non-Hispanic black man in the driver's seat. The officers recognized that the occupant was suffering from an unknown injury, removed him, began providing aid and summoned emergency personnel. As additional PSP units arrived, a perimeter was established and members began panting the occupants of the neighboring residence. Shortly after, Anthony Jalil Henderson, 30, and two young females came out of the residence.

The investigation determined that the victim, Lance Mitchell Riely, 33, of St. Thomas, suffered a gunshot wound and died from his injuries. The Troop H Major Case Team was then activated to lead the homicide investigation.

As a result, PSP says Henderson was identified as the shooter and was subsequently charged with 1st degree murder, 3rd degree murder, several firearms offenses and several related offenses to drugs.

PSP emphasizes that there is no danger to the public as a result of the incident, but anyone with information about the incident who has not yet contacted PSP Chambersburg should call them at (717) 264 -5161.
