The “Missing Person – Garland Warren” Facebook page posted an update Tuesday mentioning a search in Taylor County.

“Good afternoon,” the message read. “We met this morning at 9 a.m. to begin our search in Taylor County. Everyone is in different areas of Taylor County and right now we don't have anyone in the recreation department. Just keep looking in all areas of Taylor County if you can. Send us a private message with the areas you checked so they can be taken off the map.

UPDATE (06/17/24): The search for Garland Warren, 82, who went missing last week, intensified Monday with the participation of several local law enforcement agencies, including the FBI.

Warren, last seen June 10 getting gas at the AUM Food Mart in Roberta, was on his way to pick up his wife from a hair appointment in Eastman when he got lost, according to his daughter, Michelle Warren.

Michelle Warren and a family friend led a search party based in Roberta City Park on Monday.

Crawford County deputies tell 41NBC that Warren was spotted on a Flock camera in Dexter and then again in Crawford County before his last known appearance at the gas station, which is just a block from the base research in the park.

Officers on scene were unsure of the time and route Garland might have taken after his last sighting.

According to Michelle Warren, her father does not own a cell phone. His vehicle was equipped with a telephone device, but the FBI could not trace the signal because it was using a 3G network. This network was closed in 2022.

“Sometimes when the situation arises, I mean, he's an elderly man and just naturally, anytime someone wants to come and help you with what you're doing, you appreciate that effort,” the sheriff said Monday of Crawford County, Lewis Walker. “So this is another agency that we work closely with, but they say people are interested in trying to help us locate this person.”

The FBI's involvement included aerial scans of Crawford County, but an agent 41NBC spoke with reported no new findings.

If you have seen Warren or his black 2003 Toyota Tundra with Georgia tag number BTQ2000, contact the Laurens County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Unit at (478) 272-1522.
