LOUISVILLE, Miss. (WTVA) – An investigation is underway after shots were fired at a graduation party in Louisville.

The shooting happened Saturday night near a business called Club Dynasty on Fox Street.

An 18-year-old woman was shot in the leg and transported to a local hospital.

Louisville Police Chief Sean Holdiness said the victim was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

“This should make people aware that they need to pay attention to details and their surroundings when they go out,” Holdiness said. “In fact, a member of their family was inside the club before the shooting and she left before the shooting because she felt like the atmosphere was getting very heated inside the club with some altercations and so on. And that just makes good sense.

Louisville Police Chief Sean Holdiness said two officers were inside the club when the shots rang out.

Chief Holdiness says the club's CCTV will play a major role in the investigation.

WTVA 9 News requested permission to review the video.

No one has been charged in connection with the investigation. However, police have several leads and hope to make arrests soon.
