Authorities have identified the two victims found this week after their apparent drowning near Pleasure Island.

The victims were identified as Hector Ortis Ismael Castro, 39, and Bayardo Dublon, 37.

According to Guillory, autopsies have been ordered.

Dublon was found around 8 a.m. Friday at the nearby marina.

The crew of a wildlife research vessel was carrying out maintenance on the vessel when the body was seen in the water.

The search began Tuesday evening after witnesses reported seeing two men in the water, but the men did not reappear.

Guillory said it appeared one man fell into the water and the second man went in to help.

The first victim, Castro, was found in the North Levee Road area of Pleasure Island around 1 p.m. Wednesday.

Several agencies participated in the research; Port Arthur Police Department, Port Arthur Fire Department, Jefferson County Sheriff's Office Marine Unit and Texas Parks and Wildlife Rangers.
