It's no secret that Wave Frame grenade launchers are one of the Destiny 2It is most powerful special weapons available. Even in the midst of such a universally strong archetype, there are obvious outliers like Forbearance, but Undercurrent seems to be on par, if not stronger.

Undercurrent is an Arc Wave Frame, but unlike Forbearance, it has the added benefit of releasing after Arc 3.0 launches in Season of Plunder. Chain Reaction has been replaced by Voltshot, Demolitionist has been added to the third column and even Bait and Switch is making a return.

Undercurrent's divine reels are plentiful, catering to any particular slot a player might want to fill with their Wave Frame of choice. It will also be much easier for players to get their hands on, with Forbearance stuck behind RNG drops in the Vow of the Disciple raid.

There are many great choices for Undercurrent in PvE. Considering the Chain Reaction nerf to Forebearance in The final formthe new AoE add clear option will definitely Voltshot, which combines better with Arc subclasses anyway. Combine this with Statistics for everyone for quick reloading to fire the next shot faster after hitting multiple enemies.

Wrecker doesn't work well with Voltshot because you only receive the Jolt perk after manually reloading the weapon, but it can work very well for killing major enemies or champions with Bait and switch. This works best with a machine gun because your heavy but trigger Bait and Switch isn't too difficult and greatly increases the weapon's damage.

Demolitionist also combines brilliantly with Adrenaline junkiewhile even Eddy currents has its place with some builds of Arc that can make you Amplified and ensure you can reload Undercurrent quickly.

This means that Undercurrent is not our first choice for a special weapon in Destiny 2It's PvP, but if you want it, try Eddy currents And Heights. By jumping above enemies and throwing the wavy frame below you will almost kill enemies in one hit, plus a reload boost while sprinting is also useful (as long as you have ammo).

Also consider Wrecker in the first column for that sweet grenade refill, especially if it takes you a while to get special ammo in PvP.

How to bring in the undercurrent Destiny 2

Undercurrent is a Nightfall weapon, meaning it can be obtained exclusively from Strikes at nightfall. Unlike Vanguard weapons which can be obtained during any Vanguard Ops activity, Nightfall weapons rotate weekly, so you will need to modify the Nightfall playlist while Undercurrent is the currently available reward to obtain it.

Luckily for players, once you've earned it at least once and the weapon has been unlocked in your collections, additional rolls from Undercurrent can be focused at all times thanks to Commander Zavala in the tower.

That's a steep asking price of five Vanguard engrams to focus even a single drop, so be sure to stock up on mats before pursuing a divine scroll this way.
