Ukrainian Man Missing in Spartanburg County

SPARTANBURG COUNTY, SC (WSPA) – The Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in locating a man from Ukraine who has been missing since Tuesday morning.

According to the sheriff's office, Bohdan Hutsman, 60, was last seen at 10 a.m. heading out for a walk at Holston Creek Park in Inman and never returned.

He is described as a white male, approximately 5'10″ tall and weighing approximately 140 pounds. He was last seen wearing a white cap, blue shirt, black shorts, black socks and open-toed sandals.

Hutsman is originally from Ukraine and has only been in the United States for a few days. He does not speak English.

His disappearance is unusual because he left his residence on good terms and there is no indication that he is suicidal or intends to harm himself.

“His wife reported that family and friends have conducted an extensive search in and around Holston Creek Park with no success in locating Bohdan,” the sheriff’s office said. “In addition, the Holly Springs Fire Department and Spartanburg County Parks and Recreation Division are assisting in the search with drones and all-terrain vehicles.”

Anyone with information or who may have seen Hutsman is asked to call the sheriff's office.
