Two women stabbed following fight sparked by social media post, Fresno police say

A social media argument led to the shooting of two women Friday night in Fresno.

Officers responded to Sussex Way and Clark Avenue around 9 p.m. for victims of a stabbing, Fresno Police Lt. Zeb Price said.

When police arrived, they found two women, aged 18 and 19, who had been stabbed. One was stabbed in the abdomen and the other in the side of the head.

Both were transported to a local hospital and their conditions were unknown, Price said.

Officers learned there was a disagreement over social media posts, which then led to a fight.

The victims had challenged other women in social media posts to fight.

During the fight, one suspect was armed with a crowbar and the second with a knife, Price said.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 559-621-7000.
