Two women arrested in the case of the stolen puppy in Loranger

LORANGER, La. (WGNO) — Two women accused of stealing puppies from the back porch of a Loranger home were arrested after reportedly turning themselves in to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office on Thursday, July 4.

According to TPSO, Sarah Folse, 31, and Deanna Witten, 52, both of Amite, were charged with theft and trespassing after allegedly removing three German Shepherd puppies from a homeowner's back porch on Saturday, June 22.


TPSO deputies said they responded to a home in the 17000 block of Highway 40 on June 22 when they were notified by the homeowner that two women allegedly pulled into his driveway in an unknown white vehicle and removed the puppies from their leashes.

The owner was reportedly alerted to the activity by his home's security camera footage after taking the puppies outside to use the bathroom.

According to TPSO, the location of the puppies is still unknown.
