Two Ukrainians who attacked a border guard and stole a weapon arrested in Romania

Romania arrested two men suspected of attacking a Ukrainian border guard in the Rakhiv district of Zakarpattia Oblast, said Andrey Demchenkospokesperson for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine (SBGS), on national television on May 28.

The attack took place on May 24 against the Mukachevo border guard detachment. The men attacked the soldier, took his weapon and fled towards Romania.

“The border guards immediately informed their colleagues on the other side of the border and we were quickly informed of the arrest of two offenders,” said the SBGS spokesperson.

According to him, the circumstances indicate that they attacked the border guard. Other measures against these individuals are being decided.

In addition, the spokesperson added that the attackers seized a device for firing rubber bullets. The device was found on one of the inmates.

At the same time, journalist Vitaliy Hlahola said that the attackers were Andriy Boyarko, 35, and Roman Nezhyzhym, 30, from Zaporizhzhya.
