Two teens charged in fatal stabbing, Fredericton police say

Fredericton police say two 17-year-old boys have been charged in connection with a stabbing that killed a 71-year-old man.

Police responded to a call about a fight in progress Friday in the 500 block of Union Street.

Police say they found a victim who had been seriously injured in a knife attack. The man was taken to hospital but later died from his injuries.

Three suspects were arrested, including two 17-year-olds, who face charges of second-degree murder and manslaughter.

A 15-year-old boy was also arrested but has since been released.

Police say witness statements and video evidence aided the investigation, which remains active.
