Two teenagers killed in crash as 17-year-old girls suffer 'serious injuries' in Staffordshire

Two teenagers were killed in a fatal accident. Two 17-year-old girls were also “seriously injured” in the crash on Cannock Road, near Penkridge, Staffordshire.

Paramedics and police were called to the scene shortly before midnight last night (May 25) following reports of a crash involving a Ford Ka. Today, police confirmed that the driver of the vehicle – an 18-year-old man – and a front-seat passenger – a 17-year-old boy – were pronounced dead at the scene.




Meanwhile, two 17-year-old female passengers were taken to hospital with what Staffordshire Police described as “serious injuries”. The section of road between Penkridge and Cannock was closed in both directions for several hours, StokeonTrent Live reports.

Authorities are now appealing for witnesses to the accident. The families of those involved in this “tragic incident” are being supported by specialist officers.

Sergeant Richard Moors of the Staffordshire and West Midlands Collision Investigation Unit (CIU) said: “This is a tragic incident and our thoughts are with the families and loved ones of the young people who tragically lost their lives and to those who were injured. .

“Specialist officers are supporting their families at this difficult time and we ask that their privacy be respected. A full and detailed investigation is currently underway to establish the cause of the collision.”
