Two teenagers die in collision in West Midland countryside

Two teenagers have been killed in a fatal crash near Wolverhampton. Two other 17-year-old patients are in hospital with “serious injuries” following the crash on Cannock Road, near Penkridge.

Paramedics and police were called to the scene shortly before midnight last night (May 25) following reports of an incident involving a Ford Ka. Today, collision investigators confirmed that despite the best efforts of emergency services, an 18-year-old man, the driver and a front passenger, a 17-year-old man, were pronounced dead at the scene.




Meanwhile, two 17-year-old female passengers were taken to the hospital with what law enforcement described as “serious injuries.” StokeonTrentLive reported how the section between Penkridge and Cannock was closed in both directions for several hours.

Police are now appealing for witnesses while the families of those involved in this “tragic incident” are supported by specialist officers. Sergeant Richard Moors of the Staffordshire and West Midlands Collision Investigation Unit (CIU) said: “This is a tragic incident and our thoughts are with the families and loved ones of the young people who tragically lost their lives and to those who were injured. .

“Specialist officers are supporting their families at this difficult time and we ask that their privacy be respected. A full and detailed investigation is currently underway to establish the cause of the collision.”
