Two suspects arrested in Gwinnett burglary and monitored…

Two Gwinnett County men are facing charges after a traffic stop led officers to discover they allegedly committed a burglary and placed their victim under surveillance.

The Suwanee Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on June 1 that prompted the occupants to flee on foot. Officers were able to locate and arrest two suspects, Robinson Perez Chaparro, 43, of Norcross and Ronald Alexander Pulido, 23, of Duluth.

Suwanee police then contacted Gwinnett County police after large sums of cash, jewelry and a passport belonging to an unrelated occupant were discovered in the suspect vehicle.

Officers then went to the passport owner's home in the 400 block of Hillcrest Drive in Suwannee and discovered a broken rear window in the residence. The house was evacuated and the victim was contacted.

The suspect vehicle was taken to Gwinnett County Police Headquarters for processing, where detectives discovered designer handbags, cash, jewelry, tools and a surveillance camera. The camera footage allegedly showed a constant image of the victim's house dating back to May 23. They also showed the suspects recovering the camera after the burglary.

Chaparro and Pulido were charged with 1st degree burglary, unlawful surveillance, and loitering and prowling. Suwannee police also charge both suspects with obstruction, theft by taking and possession of tools for the commission of a crime. Investigators believed the victim was targeted because she was a business owner.
