Two San Francisco suspects were arrested Saturday after fleeing the scene of a performance near Woodside High School in unincorporated Redwood City, according to a news release from the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office.

The spectacle at the intersection of Woodside Road and Alameda de las Pulgas brought together hundreds of spectators, who allegedly threw objects at passing cars, the sheriff's office wrote.

“Not only are the shows illegal, they are extremely dangerous for everyone involved,” according to the press release. “The San Mateo County Sheriff's Office has a zero tolerance policy regarding live entertainment and is actively working to identify others involved in Saturday's performance.”

Police were dispatched to the scene around 3:30 p.m. when several cars and people fled the scene. Police pursued two individuals on foot and caught up with them at the ARCO gas station located at Woodside Road and Santa Clara Avenue.

An individual entered the car of a person who was filling up with gas, but police quickly arrested the suspects, aged 22 and 23.

The San Mateo County Sheriff's Office is working to identify those involved in Saturday's spectacle and is asking anyone with information to contact Sgt. Doug Richardson at [email protected] or 650-363-4911.

It is the Embarcadero Media Foundation's policy to withhold the names of those arrested for most crimes until the District Attorney's Office has determined that there is sufficient evidence to file charges in the case.
