Two South Carolina people arrested following vehicle chase through three Alabama counties

Two people were arrested and charged following a vehicle pursuit from St. Clair County to Shelby County Tuesday morning. Alabama State Police reported that a trooper attempted to stop a Volvo XC60 for speeding, but the driver refused to stop and a chase began. occurred on Interstate 20 just west of Pell City just before 7 a.m. on June 4. State troopers said the chase went along I-20 into Jefferson County and then onto I-65 southbound into Shelby County. During the pursuit, the Volvo struck a Ford. The F-250 truck, causing minor damage, troopers said. The Volvo eventually stopped and the driver, Chesnie Redmond, 38, of Fountain Inn, South Carolina, was arrested and charged with multiple traffic violations and some illegal narcotics charges. the Alabama law enforcement agency said. ALEA, with the assistance of officers from the Alabaster Police Department, was able to catch and arrest the passenger who fled the vehicle. The passenger was identified as Denzel Talton, 26, of Greer, South Carolina, and also faces charges, state troopers said. No injuries were reported.
