Two shots fired during argument at Silver Springs home

SILVER SPRINGS, Nevada (KOLO) –9:55 p.m. UPDATE: Two men were shot during an argument Wednesday at a mobile home on Birch Street in Silver Springs, Lyon County Sheriff Brad Pope said.

Both men were taken to hospital. Their condition was not available.

The sheriff's office continues to search for the suspect, Pope said. A special weapons and tactics team entered the trailer and searched the area for the suspect, but Pope did not believe he was there. They secured the house to collect evidence.

8:45 p.m. UPDATE: Steven Willis said his brother called him to tell him he had been shot.

Willis said his brother and another person were at a house gathering their belongings when a third person who lived there arrived. They got into an argument and the third person shot them.

The Sheriff's Office does not believe the suspect is in the mobile home and is checking the property.

ORIGINAL STORY: The Lyon County Sheriff's Office established a perimeter around a mobile home on Birch Street in Silver Springs Wednesday evening.

The sheriff's office said there may be a man barricaded inside a trailer. They did not disclose any details about the reasons behind the operation.

A man told KOLO 8 News his brother was shot.

Care Flight sent two helicopters to the area around 5:30 p.m.
