Two people charged in Uniontown shooting

State police have filed charges against two men in connection with a shooting that left two others injured last week.

Police on Friday charged Santana Daily Jones, 21, of Uniontown, with the crimes of attempted homicide, conspiracy and aggravated assault. Vincent Edward Pratt III, 19, was charged Monday with conspiracy to commit homicide.

According to the criminal complaint, the shooting happened shortly before 3:30 p.m. in the Varndell Street area.

Charging documents say Pharoah Sewell was shot multiple times while sitting in the passenger seat of a vehicle. Davontae Clayton was outside the vehicle when shots rang out, but he got behind the wheel and drove away from the scene. Clayton reported to officers near the intersection of Carlisle Street and Searight Avenue.

Clayton had a large cut on his forehead but was not hit by any bullets, police said. Both men were transported to WVU Medicine Uniontown Hospital for treatment.

Investigators were able to determine that Jones was in the area at the time of the shooting because he was monitored by an ankle bracelet as well as surveillance footage.

Jones is accused of shooting with a second unknown person. Pratt's vehicle was reportedly captured on security cameras dropping the two men off and then picking them up after the shooting.

Jones was arraigned Saturday morning before District Judge Jason Cox, who sent him to the Fayette County Jail without bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. July 2.

There is an active arrest warrant for Pratt.
