Two people arrested in connection with series of burglaries

(EL PASO COUNTY, Colo.) — Two men have been arrested in connection with a series of burglaries in the Cimarron Hills area and Colorado Springs, according to the El Paso County Sheriff's Office (EPSO).

EPSO announced these arrests in a press release on Wednesday May 29. EPSO said the investigation began May 8, after deputies responded to a series of business burglaries in the 6000 block of Bismark Road in the Cimarron Hills neighborhood north of Constitution Avenue.


While the burglaries were being investigated, one of the businesses was notified that someone was trying to cash a stolen check at the business. When deputies responded to the bank, they contacted 49-year-old Kerry Sherow. Further interviews and investigation then led officers to the burglary suspect, identified as 44-year-old Franklin Alexander.

EPSO said a search warrant was executed at Alexander's home and numerous items related to the Bismark Road burglaries were found in the process, as well as other burglaries within the Department of Justice's jurisdiction. Colorado Springs Police Department.

EPSO said there is evidence linking Alexander to at least 10 burglaries in El Paso County. He is currently being held in the El Paso County Jail on $25,000 bail on burglary charges. Sherow is being held on $2,000 bail on identity theft charges.
