Two people arrested for drug trafficking | News

A few Paragould residents were being held in the Greene County Jail this week after their arrest on suspicion of trafficking a controlled substance.

Heather Howe, 36, of Paragould, was arrested May 30 after an investigation by the Greene County Sheriff's Office. According to a probable cause affidavit, deputies went to a home on Greene 516 Road to conduct a probation search. At the scene, Howe was at the home and told authorities that the keys she had in her possession did not work.

Deputies said they also found a stolen motorcycle on the property and later obtained a search warrant to check the property.

During the search, officers said they found drug paraphernalia and approximately 10 grams of methamphetamine. Deputies said they were also with Howe as part of a probation search for someone else.

“During this search, officers located items bearing Heather’s identification in the residence, as well as over a pound of methamphetamine and various items commonly used to package and distribute illegal substances,” deputies said of Greene County in the affidavit.

Howe was arrested on suspicion of trafficking in a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and theft by receiving

A $50,000 cash-only bond was set for Howe this week.

In another case, deputies arrested Nichole Martin, 39, of Paragould. According to a probable cause affidavit, officers conducted a traffic stop where Martin was driving.

Deputies then conducted a probation search of Martin's residence. According to the affidavit, officers found more than a pound of methamphetamine, various items used to package and distribute illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia.

A $50,000 cash-only bond was set for Martin, who was arrested on suspicion of trafficking a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
