Two people arrested following traffic stop in Orange County

NEWBURGH, NY (NEWS10) — Two people were arrested after a traffic stop in Newburgh on Monday. Aden Albino, 19, of Newburgh, and Yael Garcia, 20, of Newburgh, face multiple charges.

According to State Police Troop F, officers stopped a 2005 Honda Pilot for violating traffic and traffic laws. Police identified Albino as the driver and Garcia as the passenger.


Police said they saw an open beer can in the car and, after searching the vehicle, found a loaded Polymer 80 9mm ghost gun with ammunition in a hidden compartment under the passenger seat. A K9 searched the car and found approximately one gram of LSD along with approximately 562 grams of cannabis.

Police say a search of the center console led to the discovery of four AR-15 fully automatic switches.

Charges:

  • Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree
  • Criminal Possession of a Firearm
  • Third Degree Criminal Possession of a Weapon, Ammunition Feeding Device
  • Criminal Possession of a Rapid-Fire Modification Device (AR-15 Full Auto Switches) (four counts)
  • Seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance
  • Illegal possession of cannabis

Both were arraigned in Orange County Central Arraignment. They were remanded to Orange County Jail.
