(Burke County Sheriff's Office)

BURKE COUNTY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Two people have been charged after breaking into a high school and stealing several items, according to the Burke County Sheriff's Office.

On June 6, deputies investigated a report of a theft at East Burke High School in Connelly Springs. It was reported that several items, including tools, were stolen from the Ministry of Agriculture.

Investigators received a tip from a citizen which led to a search at 3931 East Burke Blvd. It's about 1 mile from the school.

Detectives saw tools and other items in the driveway that matched what was reported stolen, officials said. Other items and tools believed to have been stolen were found in the yard. Authorities used a search warrant at the address and found even more stolen property in an outbuilding and inside the residence.

Jessie James Shull and Telitha Nicole Shull, both 35, were arrested at the scene without incident. Both suspects were booked into the Burke County Jail under a $15,000 secured bond for criminal possession of stolen property.

Officials say additional charges could be filed pending the investigation.
