Two more suspects arrested in Meadowview shooting that injured five, police say

Two more people have been arrested in connection with a Memorial Day shooting in Sacramento's Meadowview neighborhood that injured five people, police said. Charles Head, 42, was arrested for attempted murder. India Thomas, 29, was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon. Both are from Sacramento and were booked into the county's main jail. Police said the two suspects were not hospitalized after the May 27 shooting. The shooting was reported around 8 p.m. in the 70th block of Coral Gables Courthouse in South Sacramento. Three men, a woman and a teenage girl were shot dead. All survived and one of the injured, Jayovanni Head, of Sacramento, was arrested and faces two felony assault charges. Head's next hearing will be June 12 for a bail review and mandatory settlement conference. Jayovanni Head's relatives said he tried to protect the children by keeping the gun away from another person and should not be considered a suspect in the shooting. Police said the two suspects were not among those taken to the hospital after the May 27 shooting.

The shooting was reported around 8 p.m. in the 70th block of Coral Gables Court in South Sacramento.
