Two more boys arrested in Sunnyvale murder

SUNNYVALE – Authorities announced Thursday the arrests of two more boys in connection with the fatal shooting of a 19-year-old man last April in Sunnyvale.

Detectives and SWAT team members arrested a boy Tuesday in San Jose, the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety said in a news release. The other boy was arrested Thursday at Santa Clara County Juvenile Hall, where he was already in custody for an unrelated offense.

A third boy was arrested May 1 in connection with the homicide, authorities said.

The shooting happened shortly after midnight on April 30 in the 100 block of South Bernardo Avenue. Officers arrived and found a man inside a vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound.

The man was taken to hospital, where he died from his injuries. The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner and Coroner's Office identified him as Alexandro Cuevas Cruz, 19, of Sunnyvale.

The homicide remains under investigation. Authorities have not released a motive.
