Two men arrested on suspicion of manslaughter

Two men aged 28 and 31 have been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter after a falling tree killed a 16-year-old boy.

The incident took place in Rotherham Baulk, Carlton-in-Lindrick, Nottinghamshire, on Saturday morning.


The village is approximately three miles north of Worksop and approximately 17 miles east of Sheffield.

Police were called to the scene around 11:20 a.m. after reports that a boy had been seriously injured.

Police and paramedics attended the scene, but the boy was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 28-year-old woman was also arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

The three people arrested are in police custody.

Detective Inspector Simon Harrison, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This is a tragic incident and my thoughts are with the boy’s family.
