Two Maine men charged with drug trafficking and child welfare

It's become one of the most important tasks of the last decade, and it's about trying to keep deadly drugs out of the hands of Maine residents. Of course, this is not a problem that only concerns the Pine Tree State, although in recent years we have seen a major influx of illegal drugs flooding the state.

According to a press release from Maine State Police spokesperson Shannon Moss, two men were arrested this week following a drug bust by Maine State Police, Central Field Troop.

Moss reported in the release that the arrest occurred Friday at 51 Flatt Road in Knox, Maine. She went on to explain that earlier in the day, a traffic stop was made on 31-year-old Caleb Woodard. Woodard was reportedly arrested for drug possession following his arrest.

After the traffic stop, police said attention then shifted to the Flatt Road residence. Police say because of the aforementioned traffic stop, they likely had reason to search the home.

In total, Maine State Troopers were able to seize 30 grams of fentanyl, crystal methamphetamines, crack cocaine and 10 different non-prescribed pills, including suboxone, oxycodone and Xanax.

Following the home search, police also arrested 34-year-old Ryan Kenny.

The charges against Woodard and Kenny are listed below, according to the Maine State Police press release:

• Aggravated Trafficking in Schedule W Drugs Fentanyl
• Schedule W drugs and methamphetamines
• Illegal possession of Schedule W drugs, cocaine base
• Illegal Possession of Schedule W Drugs, Suboxone
• Illegal Possession of Schedule W Drugs Oxycodone
• Illegal possession of Schedule Z drugs
• Endangering the welfare of a child
• Possession of a firearm by a prohibited person

Ryan Kenny was charged with the following offenses:

• Aggravated Trafficking in Schedule W Drugs Fentanyl
• Possession of a firearm by a prohibited person
• Endangering the welfare of a child
