Two local trap shooting teams compete in state tournaments in Minnesota and Wisconsin

The Proctor Trap team qualified for the Minnesota State Clay Target tournament for the fourth year in a row.

The team finished fourth at the 2024 Minnesota Clay Target Championship on June 12 in Alexandria. Layla Eckstrom was the team's top scorer with a score of 94 out of 100. Thor Forstrom was the team's top scorer, with a score of 98 out of 100.

The top 40 teams qualify for the MN State tournament, Proctor qualified 34th with a score of 472. Team participants include Laine Graves, Henry Napoli, Gabe Bachke, Thor Folstrom and Layla Eckstrom. The team's backups are Austin Carlson and Kaleb Lind.

Proctor also had five individual state qualifiers, Laine Graves, Henry Napoli, Gabe Bachke, Thor Folstrom and Austin Carlson.

The state tournament will be held Friday, June 21 at the Minneapolis Gun Club in Prior Lake. The opening ceremony will begin at 8:30 a.m., the team competition will begin at 9:00 a.m. and the individual competition will begin at 1:00 p.m.

The Ashland-Washburn High School Trap team won the Wisconsin state championship title on June 9 with a total score of 475. Their score earned them the varsity and overall championship titles.

The Ashland-Washburn novice team took second place with an overall score of 372.

They also took the top two High Gun Novice Female ranks, with Ali Schmidt taking the top title with a total score of 89, and Reagan Mrnak coming close behind with a score of 85.

Bella Roman took third place in the women's High Gun Varsity division with a score of 94.
